
Ecotech Institute is the first and only college entirely focused on preparing America's workforce for careers in renewable energy and sustainability. Launched in April 2010 in the Denver, Colorado, metro area, the college offers programs designed by experts in the industry for people seeking careers in the emerging clean tech economy. These programs are created to give graduates the practical, hands-on skills necessary to provide employers with environmental job ready employees, ready to make an immediate impact in their businesses.
Programs were developed with direct input from the school's Board of Advisors and after research that included feedback from major corporations involved with the green economy.

In 2011, Ecotech Institute's flagship campus in the Denver area received the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. This is one of the highest honors in the green building and design industry and acknowledges a number of sustainability features at the campus.
Ecotech Institute is owned and operated by Education Corporation of America, a leader in the post-secondary career school market with current enrollment of over 16,000 students and with thousands of successful graduates. Schools include Virginia College, founded in 1983, with campuses in twenty-five cities. Virginia College also offers online curriculum.
