Renewable Energy Technology
Associate of Applied Science Degree - First 2 Semesters Available Online
Ecotech Institute's Renewable Energy Technology degree program provides a solid foundation in the fundamentals of clean renewable energy with a focus on engineering technology.
What can you learn in this degree program?
Our degree program allows students to choose their own specialization for the growing field of renewable energy jobs.
Along with core classes that connect sustainability, electricity, field safety, power generation and other areas, students choose from a variety of electives that relate to their specialization. These electives could include electrical engineering technology, solar or wind technology, waste management, or environmental technology, among others.
- Energy Management
- Best Practices in Energy Technology
- Renewable Energy
- Industrial Wiring
- Power Generation and Transmission
- Electives such as Wind Turbine Systems, Solar Thermal Installation and Repair, Energy Auditing, Cost and Investment Analysis, Water Resources, Digital Electronics, and Programmable Logic Controls
I know it was the best decision I ever made.
What are the career opportunities in Renewable Energy Technology?
Some researchers predict renewable energy could supply the continental United States with 70% of its electricity demand by 2030. This energy self-sufficiency will require technicians trained in various areas of renewable energy.
Ecotech Institute's faculty in renewable energy technology training includes experienced professionals who help train students for hands-on careers as environmental engineering technicians and and more.
Upon successful completion of the Renewable Energy Technology degree program at Ecotech Institute, students may work side-by-side with environmental engineers researching the environmental impact of proposed construction, building or maintaining wind energy turbines, or working in the field as an energy efficiency technician. Other graduates aim to start a consulting business or other kind of company focused on serving either residential or business needs.
