As Ecotech Institute blazes a new trail in education, it will be led by the steady hand of education industry veteran Michael L. Seifert, who was recently appointed president of the first and only college focused entirely on preparing America's workforce for careers in renewable energy and sustainable design.
"I am honored to be a part Ecotech Institute, which will significantly transform the lives of students and the community through proven and informed renewable energy and sustainable design education," said Seifert. "It is time for a career college to provide practical degrees for the relevant careers of the future."
Seifert brings more than twenty-five years of education management experience in a variety of capacities with a notable strength in building and maintaining well-performing educational institutions. Before joining Ecotech Institute, he was president of Kaplan College in San Diego, one of the largest campuses within the organization, for nine years. In that role, he raised college performance and it was regarded as a regional resource.
Previously, Michael held senior leadership positions across the country with ITT Technical Institute, Computer Tech, National Education Corporation, United Education & Software, and Airco Educational Services. He also has a wealth of experience in the insurance industry and retail sales. Michael received his bachelor's of science in Business Resource Development from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Under Seifert's leadership, Ecotech expects to educate more than 15,000 people in the next 15 years.
