As long as there's sunshine, those trained in the emerging field of solar energy technology will have a power source fueling their work.
In fact, solar power ranks first in the top sectors for clean-tech job activity in the U.S., as reported by research experts Clean Edge.
This program is designed to prepare Ecotech Institute students for careers in renewable energy and to give them a solid foundation in fundamentals of solar energy technology. Well maintained facilities, modern labs, and small class sizes give students the opportunity to apply theory to the real world.
Solar panel technology has been around for decades, but new incentives from state and local governments are promoting expansion in the industry. Although still a growing part of renewable energy production, many state and local governments are increasing incentives for homeowners to get solar panels installed on their roofs. Increased demand is expected to create new jobs across the country.
For some, being employed in solar energy combines two opportunities into one job: helping the environment while working in a hands-on, in-the-field career.
Our Solar Energy Technology program might be right for you if you...
This program prepares students for careers in the field of renewable energy and focuses on solar energy technology. The program is designed to give graduates a solid grounding in fundamentals while specializing in solar energy technology. Industry-standard laboratories and facilities give students the opportunity to apply theory. Graduates will be prepared to become solar energy technicians.
