"Ecotech Institute Sustainability Conference" on December 6 to Focus on Renewable Energy Careers and the Future of Green Technology

Open House Event on Friday, December 6 Includes Impressive Line-up of Expert Speakers on Energy Efficiency, Lab Demos, Campus Tours, and Food Truck Lunch

Denver, Colo. - November 26, 2013 - On Friday, December 6, Ecotech Institute is hosting its first-ever "Ecotech Institute Sustainability Conference" from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its campus in Aurora at 1400 S. Abilene Street, right off of I-225. It is open to the public, allowing guests to listen to speakers, take tours, watch environmental training lab demos, enjoy lunch and meet Ecotech Institute staff and students. People are welcome to come and go throughout the day. The campus is easy to find and parking is plentiful.  

"We wanted to bring sustainable energy experts together with our students, faculty and the public to share how we're providing green energy training for the bright future of cleantech," said Chris Gorrie, Academic Dean at Ecotech Institute. "We have a packed schedule of events that will be enjoyable and educational for anyone who attends, including those looking for careers in sustainable energy."

Lunch from a delicious local food truck, Mike's2Kitchen, will also be provided for attendees. Alongside the impressive line-up of expert speakers, hourly tours will be held throughout the school, with stops and a few demos at the Climbing Lab, Process Control Lab, Electrical Lab, Wind Lab, Solar Sheds, and the Energy Efficiency Lab.

Booths will also be set up by local sustainability companies such as: Colorado Renewable Energy Society, Beaver Ponds Environmental Education Center, GrowHaus, GRID Alternatives, Cool Planet, REC Solar, Platinum Homes, EATON and Canopy Car Park.

Ecotech Institute, the first college entirely focused on renewable energy and cleantech, has more than 500 students receiving practical training in the fields of sustainability. Ecotech Institute currently offers the following eight associate's degree programs:
