Focus on Energy Management: Ecotech Institute and American Automation Partner for 2014 Technology Day, Friday, May 30

Event will provide training and insight into building automation, energy management, and networked buildings

Denver, Colo. – May 21, 2014 – On Friday, May 30, Ecotech Institute, a college solely focused on renewable energy and sustainability, is hosting American Automation's "2014 Technology Day." It will begin at 7:30 a.m. and last until 1:00 p.m. at Ecotech Institute's campus in Aurora, Colo., at 1400 S. Abilene Street, right off of I-225. Attendees will gain training and insight in building automation, energy management, and networked buildings and learn how to address rising costs and lower budgets.

"We're excited to partner with American Automation to host its 2014 Technology Day," said Chris Gorrie, academic dean at Ecotech Institute. "The event itself and the opportunity for our students to earn continuing education credits will provide a lot of value. We welcome any members of the community who are interested in this industry to join us for the day."

American Automation is a company that specializes in building automation systems, including the installation, management, design, and security of buildings. The event will include several panel discussions and breakout sessions, where attendees will experience trade and product demonstrations and presentations by building automation experts. Throughout the day about 30 vendors will display products showcasing the latest automation and energy efficiency technology and a job fair will follow.

Some takeaways from this event will include:

  • Insight for owners and developers on driving down the total cost of building ownership, from energy to commissioning;
  • How to best work with system integrators to maximize building network designs;
  • How to use Division 25 to integrate and communicate the requirements of building automation;
  • Best practices for communicating with IT Departments;
  • Evaluation and approval of capital projects.
